Rob Huff joins Münnich Motorsport
Reigning champion Rob Huff is going to drive a third SEAT León for Münnich Motorsport in the 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship.
“I’m delighted to join René and Marc at ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport for 2013. It is an exciting newly-formed WTCC project, but the team have a huge reputation having previously won the FIA GT1 World Championship in 2012,” said Huff.
Huff was left without a drive as Chevrolet pulled out of WTCC after the 2012 season. While Huff has raced for Chevrolet for the last eight years, he returns to the manufacturer he claimed his first touring car title with, ten years ago in the 2003 SEAT Cupra Championship.
“I started my saloon car career racing in a SEAT, so it will be quite special to compete in the WTCC with the Leon and a team that carries the highest amount of professionalism. I’m very thankful for the opportunity that I have been given and I look forward to building on this this relationship,” said Huff.
The 33-year-old is going to be team mate to Marc Basseng and René Münnich, owner of the team, while previously announced third-driver Markus Winkelhock has chosen to leave the team.
