Norbert Michelisz leads the warm up in Hungary

Zengõ Motorsport driver Norbert Michelisz was fastest in the warm up at the Hungararing ahead of the two champions of the last three years, Rob Huff and Yvan Muller.

Yvan Muller set the first target time in the low 1:55s, but Michelisz was one of only two drivers to break into the 1:54s in the 15 minute session, with Michelisz setting a time of 1:54.900 to set the fastest time in the Honda Civic Super 2000 TC.

Münnich Motorsport driver Rob Huff put a run in late in the session to go second fastest in the SEAT León WTCC, 0.085s behind.

Muller ended up third in the RML Chevrolet with Mehdi Bennani the fastest of the BMW drivers in fourth.

James Thompson found more pace overnight and was fifth fastest for LADA Sport Lukoil, just ahead of Tiago Monteiro’s Honda.

PB Racing’s Stefano D’Aste and Honda’s Gabriele Tarquini were both given warnings for exceeding the track limits, whilst Engstler Motorsport’s Franz Engstler was black flagged for the repeatedly offending.

The first race is due to begin at 12:35 CET.
