Penalties for qualifying reshapes grid for race one

Michel Nykjaer will start from pole position in Austria after a number of drivers were handed a number of grid penalties and fines for tomorrow after being deemed in breach of Appendix L, Chapter 4, Article 2e of the International Sporting Code.

The full details of the fines and penalties are:
Hugo Valente, 5 place grid drop and 3000 EUR fine
Tom Chilton, 12 place grid drop and 3000 EUR fine
Yvan Muller, 12 place grid drop and 3000 EUR fine
Tiago Monteiro, 12 place grid drop and 3000 EUR fine
Gabriele Tarquini, 24 place grid drop and 6000 EUR fine
Tom Coronel, 15 place grid drop and 4000 EUR fine
Norbert Michelisz, 12 place grid drop and 3000 EUR fine
Rob Huff, 10 place grid drop and 1000 EUR fine
Pepe Oriola, 16 place grid drop and 6000 EUR fine
Alex MacDowall, 8 place grid drop and 3000 EUR fine
Stefano D’Aste, 5 place grid drop and 1000 EUR fine
Darryl O’Young, 5 place grid drop and 1000 EUR fine

No action for Mikhail Kozlovskiy or James Nash, who were also invesigated but no further action.

The drivers that were punished were found in breach of International Sporting Code Appendix L, Chapter 4, Article 2e and 151, which states

It is not permitted to drive any car unnecessarily slowly, erratically or in a manner deemed potentially dangerous to other drivers at any time.
