Yvan Muller fastest in first drying Moscow test
Yvan Muller was fastest in the first test session at a drying Moscow track.The Chevrolet driver lapped the Russian track in 1:43.598, just under two tenths faster than BMW driver Tom Coronel in second.
Gabriele Tarquini made it three different manufacturers in the top three for Honda, being 0.337 seconds slower than Tarquini.
Mehdi Bennani was top independent driver in fourth position, driving a BMW 320 TC, just over half a second from the top time of the session.
Reigning champion Rob Huff was fifth fastest ahead of Darryl O’Young, Tiago Monteiro and Pepe Oriola.
James Thompson, driving for home manufacturer Lada, was ninth fastest ahead of James Nash, just over 1.3 seconds from the top. The session went without incidents, except for a spin for Coronel on his first lap.
