José María López leads Argentina morning warm up

Wiechers-Sport driver José María López set his fastest lap of the weekend in the morning warm up at Termas de Río Hondo, outpacing the two British drivers Alex MacDowall and Rob Huff in the 15 minute session.

LADA Sport Lukoil’s James Thompson led the session for the first ten minutes with a time of 1:49.866, before the two bamboo-engineering Chevrolets of first James Nash and then Yokohama Trophy pole sitter Alex MacDowall took over at the top of the time sheets with times half a second quicker.

The times continued to tumble at the top however, with Mikhail Kozlovskiy also improving in the Lada to go second, which eventually became fourth after last minute improvements for Münnich Motorsport’s Rob Huff and López.

Rob Huff only set one competitive run in the session and went third fastest in his SEAT León, whilst race two pole-sitter López’s time of 1:48.652 is faster than he was in qualifying in the BMW 320 TC.

The first race of the day is scheduled for 14:20 ART, 18:20 BST/19:20 CET.
