SEAT and BMW join Lada on the bottom of the scales
The SEAT León WTCC and the BMW 320 TC will be able to run at the minimum base weight of 1,130kg for the next race in Japan, whilst Honda get a 10kg increase for their home race, after setting the fastest laps in both of the races at Sonoma Raceway last weekend.
The BMW teams will return to -20kg from the base weight, as they were earlier in the season, meaning the German cars will be able to make use again of the carbon fibre doors which allow the larger cars to get near the target weight.
The SEAT León WTCC, also known to be unable to actually hit its minimum weight allowance, will at least be able to run as light as they can for the next round after a few uncompetitive meetings for the Spanish cars, which, like the BMW, are now seven years old.
Honda meanwhile will be forced to run at a minimum weight of 1,170kg, just 20kg less than the Chevrolet Cruze 1.6Ts of RML, bamboo-engineering, Nika Racing and Tuenti Racing Team, which remain the reference car when qualifying and race performance over the last three meetings are considered.
