Everything set for the Super TC 2000 stadium race
The Argentinian Super TC 2000 series heads to Estadio Unico of La Plata for the tenth round of the 2013 calendar this weekend. It’s the first time in South America that a race is going to be held in a stadium. This location is principally used for by the national Rugby and Football teams of Argentina.
The walls that mark the track have been fitted with plastic fences and boxes. Everything you need to acclimate a stadium as a track and get it ready for the show of the Argentin’s most technologically advanced series. This innovative idea in South America is trying to reflect the accomplishments of the DTM in Münich in 2012.
In addition to the race track, there is an impressive stage where musicians Juanse and Luciano Pereyra will perform, which has 11 meters wide by seven meters depth and have a 6-screen LEDs long and four meters high.
Starting on Friday, the teams that will be part of this challenge will arrive at the appropriate stage to perform technical and administrative verification , which will take place from 09.00 to 14.00 hrs.
On Saturday from 15.00 the stadium will be opened. For this special day, the public will be able to participate actively , while enjoying the great show on track, music shows and fireworks, and have the opportunity of winning a ride aboard a Super TC 2000 car.
This great event will feature four hours of live TV through the Carburando team and TyCSports channel for the whole Republic of Argentina and the Americas. This event will feature 20 cameras on the floor, one Condor Cam and 20 cameras on board the Super TC2000 cars to live and feel all the adrenaline of racing inside a stadium.
The 24 drivers that are going to make the race are ready to give it all out in search of glory.
Facundo Ardusso, driver of the #2 Fiat Linea Petronas said: “It is a race in which I really wanted to participate, because it mix my two passions, racing and Football. Though I have to try to score points for the championship, it will be an unforgettable weekend. I hope to have a good performance, as the team is working hard to be competitive and fight for the win.”
Leonel Pernía of Renault Lo Jack Team, was one of the drivers who took part in the last year December 18th test, and recalled: “I was part of the test at the end of 2012 and without doubt a show is guaranteed.
“Although we do not develop full speed as we get on a circuit, it is going to be very challenging. Knowing that your first run may be the last you have a great adrenaline and predisposes you to give everything to continue advancing to the runs and be the only winner of this great event. I have no doubt that the motorsports fans and unconventional public will be seduced by this format.”
