Dušan Borković dropped to the back after ride height failure
Campos Racing’s Dušan Borković has lost his times from qualifying after failing the ride height test twice in qualifying, vitally promoting team-mate Hugo Valente to tenth and to provisional pole position for the second race at Hungary.
The Serbian had secured the reversed grid pole after setting the tenth fastest time in qualifying. Although he made a mistake on his lap, the time was better than team-mate Hugo Valente, who had also gone wide on his final flying run, which saw him only qualify 11th initially before the time deletion of Borković.
“This is the first time for me on this track, and I knew that it would be impossible to get into Q3, as Citroen would again be as fast as they were, and Honda would be strong here as it’s quite twisty and is better suited to this track, so my aim was to be in tenth position because of the reversed grid,” said Borković to TouringCarTimes after qualifying.
Borković will now start 20th and last for both of tomorrow’s races.
