Dusan Borkovic says he needs more wet track time
Serbia’s Dusan Borkovic had another tricky weekend at the Slovakiaring, struggling with the long corners at the 5.9km circuit in qualifying and finishing outside the top ten, and like everyone else, the fight was just to stay on track during the horrific weather conditions on Sunday.
“The conditions were extremely hard, it was raining from the beginning of the race. I knew after the race in France that it will make things harder for me to be competitive and get good results,” said Borkovic.
“I started well and improved a couple of places but I had a big problem with oversteer. I flew of the track a few times but managed to get back. I finished the first race 12th”
“I am not satisfied with the result and not winning any points but the car is in one piece. I crashed with Tiago Monteiro and damaged my aerodynamics, but that’s racing…I hope to test after this weekend so I can improve my car, and I would like to test in the rain.”
The next circuit is the Salzburgring, which Borkovic says should favour the Cruze and is also where the 29-year-old took his first win in the FIA European Touring Car Cup last season.
