Nürburgring Nordschleife looks set for 2015 WTCC

Rumours of the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife becoming a part of the FIA World Touring Car Championship calendar have circulated for many years without becoming reality, but for the 2015 season it finally looks like it will take place, according to Motorsport-Total.

The race is supposed to take place together with the Nürburgring 24 hour race next year, meaning a huge audience of more than 250, 000 fans that annually visit the legendary endurance race.

If the race becomes reality, it would be the first time in over 30 years that a World Championship event takes place on the Nordschleife. The World Sports Car Championship raced there for the last time in 1983 and Formula 1 in 1976.
