Dusan Borkovic dropped to the back after engine change

Campos Racing driver Dusan Borkovic will start 21st and last despite qualifying 11th at Spa-Francorchamps due to an engine change in his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1.

The Serbian was disappointed after qualifying, after making a mistake at the Bus Stop chicane in the second part of qualifying, locking up the tyres and ruining the only lap possible in the short ten minute qualifying segment around the 7km Belgian circuit.

Borkovic told TouringCarTimes that he had overrevved the engine in Moscow, which therefore required an engine change before or after the Spa weekend as per builder RML’s guidelines. The team subsequently made the call to change the engine ahead of tomorrow’s race, which drops him to last for the first race, but he will still start 11th for race two.
