Néstor Girolami wins in Sante Fe on Saturday night

Peugeot Lo Jack Team’s Néstor Girolami was victorious in the first of two races this weekend at the Santa Fe circuit during the most recent round of the Argentinian Super TC 2000 Championship.

The Peugeot driver dominated proceedings, while Chevrolet’s Norberto Fontana, despite being the fastest in qualifying, was having to work his way forward due to the championship’s grid position success penalty system.

Girolami won the race 3.8 seconds clear of reigning champion Matías Rossi’s Toyota Corolla, with the Renault of Leonel Pernía completing the podium.

Julían Santero finished fourth for Peugeot, with Fontana having fought his way through the field to fifth position, and in doing so ensures he still maintains his championship lead ahead of Sunday’s daytime 24 lap race, albeit now down to just one point.
