Michael Soong joins Campos Racing in Beijing

34-year-old Hong Kong driver Michael Soong will make his FIA World Touring Car Championship return this weekend with Campos Racing, competing in the Spanish team’s SEAT León WTCC in the TC2T class as team-mate to Corsican John Filippi.

Soong made his WTCC debut at Macau last season, competing in the 34 car bumper grid for the season finale and the final ever race for the outgoing TC2T (Super 2000 Appendix J 2011) regulations.

Soong finished 18th in the first race, but was caught up in the infamous melee in the second race which saw a number of cars retire after a collision between the PAS Macau Racing Honda Accord of Eurico de Jesus and the RML Chevrolet of Tom Chilton.

The Hong Kong driver will be on double duty this weekend, competing in the supporting China Touring Car Championship with Kia Racing.
