Mehdi Bennani confident for the upcoming races

Mehdi Bennani was present at the official test at the iconic Nordschleife.

The Moroccan is confident he will be close to the front, despite a lack of experience at the track:”I like it very much, it’s different and very interesting, and very charming as well,” said the Sébastien Loeb Racing driver to TouringCarTimes.

When asked about his goals for the event, Bennani had no doubts:”The goal is always the same, I would like to be on the podium, and that’s what I am fighting for.”

The Citroën driver conceded he has very good material in his hands, but he is facing top class drivers, so it will not be easy for him to deliver:”I’m fighting against my stable-mates, but also against some other high profile drivers. This is the World Touring Car Championship, so there is no bad driver on the grid. It will not be easy, but I think that during the season I will be able to score a podium, and hopefully a win.”

Bennani scored a season-best fourth at his home track at Marrakech, and now sits seventh in the championship with 26 points to his name.
