Thailand driver Tin Sritrai joins Campos for home race

Tin Sritrai will become the first driver from Thailand to compete in the World Touring Car Championship at the next round on November 1st. He will take the wheel of Campos Racing’s third Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 alongside regular drivers Hugo Valente and John Filippi.

Sritrai will join the field as the WTCC races at the new Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand for the first time. Sritrai will driving the car last raced by Mat’o Homola earlier this year at the Slovakiaring.

“I am so happy to get this incredible opportunity to graduate to the WTCC for my home race,” said Sritrai. “It’s a really big chance to learn from the best and I cannot wait to get my first experience of my Campos Chevrolet in front of my home fans. I am well aware of the enormity of the challenge but I will do my best to build my knowledge in the hope that I can race in the WTCC full time in the future.”

Sritrai competed in the 2012 Race of Champions in Bangkok, and has been a regular touring car front runner, winning the Touring Car Series in Asia between 2012 and 2014 and is also leading this year’s standings.
