Leonel Pernía claims General Roca pole position
Renault Sport driver Leonel Pernía claimed pole position for the Super TC 2000 race at General Roca, beating Team Peugeot Total Argentina driver Néstor Girolami with a mere 0.058 seconds.
The Fiat duo of José Manuel Urcera and Facuno Ardusso claimed positions three and four, four and five tenths of a second behind the pole time respectively.
Peugeot driver Agustin Canapino, who is second in the championship, managed to set the exact same time as Ardusso in fourth position, but was awarded fifth position as he set his time after the Fiat driver.
Emiliano Spataro was the first driver outside the top five in sixth position for Renault Sport, lapping 0.566 seconds slower than manufacturer colleague Pernia on pole.
Facundo Chapur claimed position seven ahead of the top Chevrolet driver in the form of Norberto Fontana in eighth position.
Championship leader Matias Rossi had a dreadful qualifying session and will start 21st for Toyota Team Argentina.
