Norbert Michelisz not getting carried away with testing pace

Norbert Michelisz was fastest in this morning’s testing session in Buriram, Thailand. The Zengo Motorsport driver is keeping his feet on the ground however, as it is still too early in the weekend to have a real performance benchmark.

“I have learned my lesson from Shanghai,” said the Hungarian to TouringCarTimes. “Last time out in Shanghai I was second in Testing and then fell backwards in Qualifying. I still have my feet firmly on the ground, there is work to do. I know our competitors’ progress curve is steeper than ours.”

When asked if he likes the track, the Honda driver was full of praise for the Chang International Circuit: “I think we are going to have some interesting racing. The track is wide and it’s easy to find the push for the limit, because the run-off areas are wide and you are not at risk of crashing the car. There are opportunities to overtake, besides the obvious one, which is Turn 3, I think the middle section will also offer good opportunities during the fights.”

Michelisz scored a win in his home race this year, scoring four more podiums during the season.
