Ma Qing Hua happy with double podium after ‘tough weekend’

Ma Qing Hua came third in both races in Buriram, Thailand. The Chinese driver was involved in several battles, but he says the fight started right from free practice as he got to grips with the car and the track.

“It was very tough from free practice to qualifying,” admitted the Citroën driver. “The gaps were really tight, and in qualifying I did not do a perfect lap. It was difficult setup-wise, we had to work on the balance of the car because the conditions had changed compared to free practice 2, it was much hotter.”

Regarding the races, the Citroën driver did not go into details, claiming he fought to defend his position: “I had good fights to protect my position in both races, so it was fun and I am happy with the results.”

The Chinese praised his team-mate and Citroën Racing for another championship-winning season: “Congratulations to my team-mate, I am really happy for him. He deserved the championship, this season he has been very, very strong and I learned a lot from him as well as my team-mates.”
