Stefano D’Aste stopped by engine problem in qualifying

Stefano D’Aste did not set a time in qualifying earlier this morning at Buriram, Thailand. The All-inkl.com driver reported a loss of power, which was not fixable in time for the Italian to go for a timed lap in qualifying.

Despite changing the turbo in a hurry when they realized there was a problem, the huge effort the team put in getting the car ready just a couple of minutes before the start of qualifying was useless, as the problem was not there.

TouringCarTimes understands the problem has now been identified and fixed ahead of today’s races, and D’Aste is planning for a full attack race after his qualifying struggles.
