Nick Catsburg aiming for further improvement in 2016

Nick Catsburg is looking forward to his first full season with Lada Sport, after joining midseason last year.

Catsburg will line up alongside his new team-mates Gabriele Tarquini and Hugo Valente in the trio of Lada Vestas this season, stating that he is excited to continue where the team left off at the tail end of 2015.

“I am very much looking forward to beginning a full season with Lada Sport Rosneft and continuing the hard work we started in 2015,” said Catsburg, who achieved a best result of fourth in his 16 races. “With experience came speed and I was particularly quick in qualifying, so I now hope to improve my race pace and translate that potential into results.”

When asked where he’s particularly looking forward to racing in 2016, Catsburg was keen to return to the Portuguese street circuit of Vila Real, where he achieved a brace of top ten finishes in 2015.

“I have a score to settle with the Vila Real street circuit in Portugal,” he said. “It’s a tight and very challenging track that tests your limits and I’m up for that challenge! I also really enjoyed the Asian leg of the last year’s championship in China, Japan and Thailand. They are all great places to go racing!”

The 27-year-old Dutch driver will be looking to capitalise on the experience of his two new team-mates over the season, which kicks off between April 1-3 in France.
