Nine cars in Vallelunga official test
Nine cars are out on track in Vallelunga for the first official test of the year.
The field is largely made out of Citroëns, with double World Champion José María López taking driving duties for the sole works car and Sébastien Loeb Racing fielding the full three-driver line-up with Mehdi Bennani, Tom Chilton and Grégoire Demoustier behind the wheel.
The new Volvo S60s are also on track, with both Thed Bjork and Fredrik Ekblom driving for the latest manufacturer to have joined the championship.
Castrol Honda Racing chose to put newly-signed Norbert Michelisz in the car for the day, also sporting the official 2016 livery.
Two Chevrolet RML Cruzes are also present at the test, with Campos Racing’s John Filippi at the wheel and René Munnich also driving his own team’s Cruze.
Testing will continue until tomorrow, when the track will be shared with the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.
