Local hero Norbert Michelisz tops testing in Hungary
Hungarian Honda driver Norbert Michelisz headed a Honda 1-2-3 in the first test session of the FIA World Touring Car Championship weekend at the Hungaroring.
Michelisz was 0.369 seconds faster than team mate Rob Huff and 0.724 seconds ahead of team mate Tiago Monteiro.
Chevrolet privateer Tom Coronel was best of the rest in fourth position, close to one second slower than Michelisz.
The fastest Citroën driver was Mehdi Bennani in fifth position, 1.2 seconds from the top time, with manufacturer colleague and reigning champion José María López in sixth position.
Lada Sport drivers Hugo Valente and Nicky Catsburg rounded off the top eight.
Neither of the Polestar Cyan Racing drivers made it into the top ten, with Fredrik Ekblom in 12th position and Thed Björk forced to remain in the pits after just two laps due to technical issues.
The WTCC weekend in Hungary continues tomorrow with Free Practice 1, starting at 09:45 CET.
