Citroën provisionally win MAC3 heat at the Hungaroring

Citroën have provisionally won the MAC3 post-qualifying event in Hungary by two-tenths of a second ahead of Honda, but the results remain provisional with both Citroën and Lada under investigation by the stewards.

Lada’s time was 1.490 seconds off the pace with the Russian manufacturer under investigation following a possible jump start by Hugo Valente.

Citroën were next on track and Mehdi Bennani slotted inbetween the two factory-run cars of López and Muller and would set a time of 3:41.538 over their two laps, but their lap is also under investigation, although unclear it’s potentially for a track limits violation.

Championship leaders Honda were last to run, and although they were up by a tenth after the first sector, they’d drop behind Citroën by two-tenths after two laps, but the points haul from qualifying with Rob Huff and Tiago Monteiro the second and third best placed manufacturer entries mean they hold a three point lead in the standings over Citroën even before any potential disqualification of Citroën or Lada by the stewards
