Grégoire Demoustier handed grid penalty for blocking Nicky Catsburg

Sébastien Loeb Racing’s Grégoire Demoustier has been given a three-place grid drop for impeding Lada’s Nicky Catsburg during the first part of qualifying at the Hungaroring, dropping the Frenchman to the back of the grid.

Demoustier had qualified in 15th position in his privateer Citroën C-Elysée WTCC, but following an investigation by the stewards, he was deemed to have held up Catsburg at Turns 2 and 3 during the first part of qualifying and has collected a grid penalty as a result.

The final grid for tomorrow’s opening race has not yet been confirmed, with the application of Thed Björk’s engine change penalty and the results of post-qualifying scrutineering still to be finalised.
