Tom Coronel has a near miss with the wall in Marrakech free practice

Tom Coronel was involved in an incident after the chequered flag in free practice 1 at Marrakech, Morocco. The Dutchman went wide at Turn 1 and just managed to avoid hitting the wall.

“It was a combination of factors,” said the ROAL Motorsport driver. “I did brake a bit late, but the brake pedal was also very soft. I risked a big accident, but it was okay in the end.”

Coronel admitted however he was sure he would have put his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 into the wall: “Honestly I thought I was going to hit the wall. I had a narrow escape but, like I said, I managed to save it, so I’ll forget the incident and move on.”

The ROAL Motorsport driver finished the session in ninth, just behind home hero and top-placed independent Mehdi Bennani.
