Yvan Muller convinced he could have been on pole position
Yvan Muller believes he had the potential to spoil Citroën team-mate José María López’s party at Termas de Río Hondo, where the championship leader is the local hero and has an impressive record at his home track.
“Sectors 1 and 2 were quite good, but unfortunately to score pole position you need to do all three sectors quickly!”, said the Frenchman. “I made a mistake at the last corner and it cost me a lot. I think I had a car capable of being on pole position, it would have been close, but it was possible.”
Despite the setback, Muller is determined to fight on track as he seeks his first win of the year: “It’s a disappointment, but I will fight during the races. It is possible to overtake on this track, provided there are not too many aerodynamic turbulences.”
