Rob Huff hails ‘brilliant weekend’ in Argentina

Rob Huff scored a double podium for Honda for the first time in his career at Termas de Río Hondo, finishing second in the opening race and third in the second heat. The Brit is now up to fourth in the championship.

“It’s been a brilliant weekend for me, especially after qualifying P6, which is probably the worst place to start in the top 10 because you’re far from a podium in both races,” said Huff. “I made a strong start to the opening race, took advantage when (team-mate) Tiago (Monteiro) ran wide on the first lap and hunted down P2.”

As for the second race, Huff found himself in third behind ROAL Motorsport’s Tom Coronel after team-mate Norbert Michelisz and Citroën’s Yvan Muller went off: “In the main race, I was in the VIP seats to see the lead battle ahead. I just saw two cars making contact and Norbi going off the circuit, so suddenly I was third and was able to finish there to take my first double-podium with Honda. I’m now up to P4 in the championship and it feels great to get things back on track like this.”

Huff has one win to his name with Honda at Paul Ricard, France.
