Super TC 2000 weekend kicks off at Santa Fe

The Argentinian Super TC 2000 Championship holds its most important event of the season this weekend, taking its action to the streets of Santa Fe. The championship contenders gave their thoughts to TouringCarTimes ahead of the double-header, which features a night race on Saturday.

The pit-lane at in the Leandro N. Alem avenue was opened up for the fans, in the traditional meet-and-greet with all the drivers next to their cars. Many people walked around with drivers signing autographs and taking pictures of their favourites.

Meanwhile, four-time champion Matìas Rossi (Toyota Team Argentina) talked to TouringCarTimes.com: “I’m glad to be here after a difficult week,” he said, after Rossi and his team-mates Matías Milla and Esteban Guerrieri escaped unhurt from a road accident on their way to Santa Fe.

“The qualifying will play the biggest part, not 100%, but it will set much of the race. It is possible to overtake in the first turn, but it will be absolutely crucial to do a perfect flying lap”, he added.

“My target is to leave Santa Fe on top of the standings, we have very strong potential, and we can do very well in Santa Fe,” said Renault driver Facundo Ardusso. Ardusso also won the Saturday night race last year when driving for the Fiat Petronas team.

Saturday’s action will start at 10:30 ART with Practice 1, followed by another practice session before qualifying and the night race.
