Lada drop 50kg for Shanghai WTCC races

The Lada cars will have 50kg less compensation weight in the FIA World Touring Car Championship races at Shanghai International Raceway next weekend compared to the previous round in Japan.

The change comes as the compensation weights are calculated based on the performances of the previous three rounds, with the Russian round now out of the calculation where the Ladas dominated in the rain.

The last three rounds put the Lada Vesta cars 1.1 seconds slower on average than the pace-setting Citroën C-Elysées, and even one-tenth off the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1s that remain on 0kg of compensation weight.

Honda will lose their maximum weight from Japan and drop 20kg for Shanghai while the privateer Chevrolet Cruzes drop 10kg, back to the base weight of 1,100kg.
