Honda drop 30kg for WTCC season finale in Qatar

Honda will benefit from a 30kg weight drop in the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship finale in Qatar next week.

The weights are calculated on an average lap time calculation over three events, and for the finale, Honda are the only manufacturer to benefit from a reallocation of weight.

Citroën will remain, as they have all season, on the maximum weight of 80kg while the Volvo, Lada and Chevrolet will remain on 0kg of compensation weight.

Citroën will have achieved a special record in Qatar in their final race, now having carried the maximum possible compensation weight in every race in which they have competed since joining the championship in 2014. The C-Elysée WTCC has never run at anything less than 1,160kg, the previous maximum weight in 2014-15.

The 2016 season finale takes place on November 25th at the Losail International Circuit.
