José Manuel Urcera rules out WTCC chances for 2017

Super TC 2000 driver José Manuel Urcera has stated it is very unlikely that he will take part in any World Touring Car Championship races this year, including his home round at Termas de Río Hondo, due to other motorsport commitments.

The Citroën Total Racing driver had a perfect weekend at the opening round of Argentinian Super TC 2000 championship this weekend, claiming pole position and won both the qualifying and feature races.

The 25-year-old also races in the Turismo Carretera stock car championship and has recently joined the Top Race V6 series.

“The WTCC races clashes with the other activity I have in Argentina, so it’s very difficult to take part in 2017 championship, even the race at Termas de Río Hondo,” said Urcera to TouringCarTimes.

Urcera was planning to drive a Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 for Campos Racing in at least one WTCC race this year. The car instead will be raced by his team-mate Esteban Guerrieri for at least half the season.
