Polestar Cyan Racing win first MAC3 time trial of 2017

Volvo squad Polestar Cyan Racing have won on their first attempt in the World Touring Car Championship’s MAC3 time trial event in Marrakech, beating Honda by seven-tenths of a second.

The Swedish squad went out first with the order as reverse championship order from 2016.

The three cars of Néstor Girolami, Nicky Catsburg and Thed Björk completed their two laps with a time of 2:51.926.

On Honda’s run, the Japanese marque were three-tenths behind in the first sector, falling to seven-tenths behind at the end of the two laps.

Polestar now pick up an additional 12 points in the manufacturers’ championship, and leads the manufacturers’ championship by two points over Honda.
