Volvo and Honda get full weight for Hungary
Volvo and Honda have been given the maximum possible compensation weight for this weekend’s race at the Hungaroring, after the FIA’s calculations have been published after the first two rounds of the season.
The best two lap times of each model of car during the first two race weekends in Morocco and Italy have been used. The average calculation was a dead heat between the Honda Civic WTCC and the Volvo S60 TC1, with both therefore being given 80kg of weight to carry this weekend, after running with no ballast for the first two races.
The Citroën C-Elysée WTCC was calculated to be three-tenths of a second slower, and will carry 50kg of ballast, just as it has during the first two races; while the Chevrolet, eight-tenths away, and the Lada Vesta, 1.6 seconds off, will carry no weight onboard.
