Honda won their first MAC3 shootout of the season at the Hungaroring, beating the Polestar Cyan Racing team by 3.8 seconds in the two-lap time trial event.
Honda put on a strong performance going out first, with Ryo Michigami leading the three-car run ahead of Tiago Monteiro and Norbert Michelisz, setting a two-lap time of 3:45.494.
Polestar were up next, with Nicky Catsburg leading the way, but the Volvo S60s lost time in every sector to the Honda trio, with the Japanese manufacturer claiming a comfortable win.
After Volvo clawed back five points in the standings after Catsburg and Néstor Girolami outqualified the Hondas, with Honda winning MAC3, they claim four back, with Volvo now just 12 points ahead in the manufacturers’ standings.
