Bernardo Llaver relieved after overcoming engine troubles

Bernardo Llaver recovered from an engine failure with his factory Chevrolet Cruze in Practice 1 of the Super TC 2000 Termas de Río Hondo weekend and managed to reach the podium in the qualifying race.

“If you told me I was going to finish on the podium a few hours ago when my mechanics were fixing my engine, I wouldn’t had believed you,” said Llaver to TouringCarTimes.com.

“Despite the engine issue, I felt the car had good potential for the rest of the day. I was afraid of missing qualifying session, but I was confident at the same time, I knew we could be in the top 10.”

The objective for today’s feature race is to assist team-mate Agustín Canapino in his title bid.

“I want to help the team, I was really needing a good result like this. But this is the most important day. I want to help Agustín (Canapino) to retain his title this season. Most of the drivers used the soft tyres set today, so we will have to rethink the whole of Sunday’s plans.”
