Championship leader Agustín Canapino excluded due to illegal floor angle

After finishing in third in the Super TC 2000 feature race at Termas de Río Hondo, championship leader Agustín Canapino was excluded from third place following technical scrutineering.

The floor angle of his Chevrolet Cruze was found to be illegal by the stewards, breaking article number 11.9.1.4 of the technical regulations.

Measurements are taken on both sides of the cars and of its centre. It was reported that right side and center were accepted, but left side showed 2.2 degrees of inclination while the minimum accepted is 2.4 degrees.

Canapino’s exclusion allowed José Manuel Urcera of Citroën Total Racing to move onto the podium, now in third behind team-mate and winner Esteban Guerrieri and second placed Bernardo Llaver.

Emiliano Spataro from Renault Sport inherited fourth and Team Peugeot Total Argentina’s Mariano Werner rounded off the top five.

Following his exclusion Canapino lost all the points earned in the feature race, but managed to mantain the drivers’ championship lead on 81.5 points, while Werner has 79, Renault Sport’s Facundo Ardusso 73, Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina’s Matías Rossi 70 and Citroën Total Racing’s José Manuel Urcera 59.5 points.
