Tom Coronel’s car successfully repaired in time for Argentina

Tom Coronel announced on his social media that his Chevrolet RML Cruze has been successfully repaired by his ROAL Motorsport team. An accident at Vila Real had put the Dutchman’s ability to take part in the Race of Argentina in doubt due to extensive damage to his car.

Coronel lost a wheel at Turn 22 and ended up hitting a truck in the subsequent off. The impact was very hard, causing a massive 25-G deceleration and seriously damaging the car. The ROAL Motorsport driver thanked his own team as well as Campos Racing, who hosted the damaged car in their workshop in Barcelona and helped their rivals get the car back in one piece before heading to Termas de Río Hondo.

The car is now part of an air freight, which took off from Frankfurt, Germany, and will end its journey in Termas de Río Hondo next Wednesday.
