Ryo Michigami gets grid penalty after engine change

Honda driver Ryo Michigami has received a grid-drop penalty after being forced to change the engine in his Honda Civic WTCC prior to today’s qualifying session at Termas de Río Hondo.

Michigami had technical issues that hampered his progress during the second free practice session where he finished in 11th place.

Honda Racing Team JAS has changed the engine of the #34 Civic, which will result in Michigami starting tomorrow’s opening race from last spot on the grid.

The team has stated that the engine change will be completed in time for this afternoon’s qualifying session and MAC3.
