Leonel Pernía says second was their best possible result

Leonel Pernía finished the Super TC 2000 Race 2 at the Santa Fe street circuit in second position, the best possible result according to the Renault Sport driver.

“I’m satisfied, we couldn’t expect anything higher than this, we were not in form to finish in second. We were lucky that both Agustín Canapino and Matías Rossi had to retire,” said Pernía to TouringCarTimes.

“Both Canapino and Rossi were impossible to chase, their teams as well were at a very high level. It was important that we sorted out our problems.”

As for the future of the season, given that he is 37 points behind championship leader and team-mate Ardusso, he concluded: “It’s up to the team if they pick a driver to battle for the title.”
