Facundo Ardusso takes pole position for the Buenos Aires 200km
Facundo Ardusso has taken pole position for the Argentinian Super TC 2000 Championship race at the Oscar y Juan Gálvez circuit, the Buenos Aires 200km.
Ardusso outqualified Peugeot driver Mariano Werner, and the privateer RAM Racing Ford Focus of Damian Fineschi.
The first Qualifying segment was split into two groups, which were led by Fineschi and Renault’s Luis José di Palma respectively, with di Palma’s time fastest of all in Q1.
In Qualifying 2, it was Chevrolet YPF’s Agustín Canapino who fastest in the initial phase, until the Q1 group joined the fold, with Ardusso able to out-pace the Cruze driver in his Renautl Fluence GT.
In the third part of qualifying, which featured a five-minute shootout, Ardusso topped the time sheets again, just under four-tenths of a second faster than Mariano Werner’s Peugeot 408 and Finescihi’s Ford Focus.
Ardusso’s Renault team-mate Leonel Pernía was fourth ahead of the Peugeot of Facundo Chapur, and Chevrolet’s Agustín Canapino.
Matías Rossi was the fastest of the Toyota drivers, who shares his Corolla this weekend with triple WTCC champion José María López, with the two Citroëns of José Manuel Urcera and Esteban Guerrieri behind him
Luis José di Palma had a mechanical issue on his flying lap and failed to set a time in Q3, and will line up tenth.
The Buenos Aires 200km gets underway at 11:50 ART tomorrow.
