Honda and Volvo go into season finale on equal weight

The Honda Civics and the Polestar Volvo S60s will go to next week’s season finale at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar with the same level of compensation weight of 80kg, while Citroën’s success in Macau has earned them 60kg.

The two manufacturer teams have been deemed as being within one-tenth of a second of each other’s pace during the last three rounds in China, Japan and Macau and so will carry the maximum possible compensation weight of 80kg, as Volvo’s Thed Björk and Honda’s Norbert Michelisz go in battling for the drivers’ title.

With pole position and the fastest lap in Macau, Citroën go from being ballast-free to carrying 60kg of weight for the final round, where Sébastien Loeb Racing drivers Tom Chilton and Mehdi Bennani have an outside chance of the title.
