Polestar Volvo win the final MAC3 of the 2017 season in Qatar

The Polestar Cyan Racing team have won the final MAC3 time trial event of the 2017 World Touring Car Championship season, leading Honda by 27.049 seconds and extending their lead of the manufacturers’ championship to 16.5 points.

The Hondas were up first as they’re second in the manufacturers’ table, with Norbert Michelisz in the #5 car on point but with his Civic’s brakes not able to repaired, the Hungarian led team-mates Esteban Guerrieri and Ryo Michigami to set a two-lap combined time of 4:42.237.

The Polestar Cyan Racing Volvos were next up, with their first change of line-up of the year, with Yvan Muller now joining the trio in-place of Néstor Girolami.

Björk led Muller and Catsburg away from the line, and the three blue S60 TC1s were easily able to beat the walking wounded Hondas, setting a two-lap time of 4:15.188.
