Yokohama confirmed as tyre supplier for the WTCR

Yokohama has been appointed by the FIA as the tyre supplier for the World Touring Car Cup for the next two years, continuing on from their supply of tyres to the World Touring Car Championship since 2006, with Panta also confirmed to continue on as the series’ official fuel supplier.

The Japanese tyre supplier has been confirmed as having won the tender to supply tyres to the brand-new World Touring Car Cup this season. Yokohama’s touring car involvement in 2017 included the WTCC, the supporting and now defunct European Touring Car Cup, the TCR Middle East series as well as the one-off TCR Europe Trophy race at Adria Raceway in October.

The 2018 WTCR is added to a roster of TCR-based championships that Yokohama supports, including the 2018 TCR Middle East series as well as the new-for-2018 TCR UK Touring Car Championship.
