KCMG to run wild card Kris Richard in Germany

The KCMG team will make a second appearance in the new World Touring Car Cup when the series heads for the Nürburgring Nordschleife after being announced as the team that will run wild card entry Kris Richard in Germany.

The Hong Kong-based outfit, best known for its exploits in sportscars in recent seasons, has joined the TCR ranks this season with a two-car entry into TCR Europe but made its touring car debut in the last round of the WTCR in Hungary.

There, fellow wild card driver Attila Tassi took a best finish of 15th at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type R TCR, with the team hopeful that former European Touring Car Cup winner Richard will be firmly in the mix on his one-off outing in the series.

“We’re delighted to have Kris represent us in our second WTCR outing and for it to be set in such a legendary venue makes this challenge all the more special,” team founder Paul Ip said. “We faced a tough weekend in Hungary but were definitely on pace – I’d like to thank the entire team for their hard work.

“Now we’d like to move forward and try again. With the Honda Civic Type R TCR and Kris, I’m confident that we can deliver positive results and hopefully finish on the podium.”
