Engine change without penalty for Morbidelli and Tarquini

The teams of Gabriele Tarquini, BRC Racing Team, and Gianni Morbidelli, Team Mulsanne, have been forced to change engines ahead of the WTCR races at Zandvoort this weekend following incidents in the previous round.

Both drivers were involved in incidents during the Nürburgring races that caused damage to respective engines, with Tarquini colliding with Audi driver Gordon Shedden at high speed and Morbidelli being unable to avoid the clash between Rob Huff and Norbert Michelisz.

An engine change is normally penalised with starting from the back of the grid, however the stewards have decided to allow these changes without penalty as the incidents were considered force majeure.
