Norbert Michelisz given five second penalty at Ningbo

BRC Racing Team’s Norbert Michelisz was given a five-second penalty for the second race at Ningbo International Speedpark for breaching track limits and gaining an advantage, which knocks the Hungarian out of the points.

Michelisz had finished the race in ninth position in his Hyundai i30 N TCR, but with the five second penalty, he drops to tenth behind Pepe Oriola’s Campos Cupra TCR and the Comtoyou Racing Audi RS 3 LMS of Aurélien Panis.

With Panis finishing in the top ten, that means Comtoyou Racing’s achievement of placing all four of their cars in the top ten comes a race early, with the Belgian squad effectively finishing both of today’s races with the cars of Frédéric Vervisch, Denis Dupont, Nathanael Berthon and Aurélien Panis in the points.

Michelisz now loses two points in the championship as a result, and is now 46 points behind championship leader Gabriele Tarquini in fourth, but there are still 261 points still to play for.
