Ma Qing Hua penalised for incident with Rob Huff in Race 2

Ma Qing Hua has been dropped from eighth to 12th in the second race at Wuhan, taking away his first points finish for his incident with Sébastien Loeb Racing Volkswagen driver Rob Huff on lap nine at Turn 12.

Ma hit the rear of Huff’s Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, pushing him out wide and dropping him to 11th, while Ma went on to finish in eighth position.

The stewards decided to penalise Ma for the contact with a five second penalty, dropping him to 12th, which promotes Comtoyou Racing’s Denis Dupont, YMR’s Yvan Muller and SLR’s Rob Huff behind him in the points positions, with Kevin Ceccon now classed as 11th.

In terms of the championship, this means Yvan Muller is again tied with team-mate Thed Bjork on 234 points, seven behind the rival Hyundai of Gabriele Tarquini going to the next race.
