Zsolt Szabo given five-place penalty for Filippi hit

Zengõ Motorsport driver Zsolt Szabo has been given a five-place grid drop for the next race at Macau after crashing into the rival Cupra TCR of John Filippi in Race 2 at Suzuka.

The Hungarian was battling with the Corsican at the hairpin when he ran straight into the side of his car on the opening lap, with Szabo eliminated from the race and unable to continue, or make the start of Race 3.

Filippi continued for some laps before putting for repairs late in the race.

The stewards found Szabo at fault and have given him the grid penalty which he will serve in Race 1 at Macau next month.
