Fresh look for Macau master Rob Huff

Rob Huff will run with a new look on his Sébastien Loeb Racing-run Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR when the World Touring Car Cup season draws to a close this weekend in Macau.

Huff goes into the season finale seeking to build on his impressive record around the infamous street circuit, with his target being to build on his record-breaking tally of nine victories – dating all the way back to 2008.

The Briton has enjoyed success in Macau in TCR-spec machinery in the past – with a win in 2015 for WestCoast Racing during the TCR International Series season finale – and will aim to end his campaign on a high by adding to the two victories he has enjoyed in the season to date.

“We’re going to Macau with one goal, to end the year on a high,” he said. “My first year with Sébastien Loeb Racing has been fantastic, but in some ways not what we expected. That’s why it’ll be great to give the guys the result they deserve around the streets of Macau, and at the same time see if we can set some new records.

“With three races, it gives us three bites at the cherry. To come away with ten victories will be perfect. There’s a chance also to score eleven, which will be awesome if we can do it.

“Twelve, it’s probably impossible – as that’d mean passing nearly a dozen cars from the partially reversed-grid race, but never say never at Macau!”

Huff will run with a revised livery on his car thanks to backing from Tianshi Industrial and he declared himself happy with the colourscheme revealed by the team.

“My new Golf also looks fantastic,” he said. “It’s great to be have a partner onboard like Tianshi Industrial, and we go to Macau with a car that fits in with all the glitz that this magnificent place brings as a season finale.”
