Cyan Racing delighted with the signing of Yvan Muller for 2019

Cyan Racing have confirmed their signing of Yvan Muller for the 2019 World Touring Car Cup, with the Swedish team making its return next year, running cars for new Chinese TCR manufacturer Lynk & Co.

The 2017 WTCC drivers’ and teams’ champions will run at minimum of three cars in next year’s WTCR season, with Thed Björk already confirmed at the team at the car’s official launch last month, with four-time WTCC champion Yvan Muller confirming himself as their latest signing this morning.

“Yvan is a key part in our assault on the 2019 FIA WTCR and our cooperation with him and his team Yvan Muller Racing during 2018 has been invaluable,” said Cyan Racing CEO Christian Dahl. “The programme has enabled us to make the necessary preparations in order to hit the ground running next year. To claim the teams’ title in 2018 fills us all with confidence for the challenges to come.”

Cyan Racing have been working with Yvan Muller’s YMR team this year in the WTCR, where they won the teams’ title today, running a pair of Hyundai i30 N TCRs for Björk and Muller.

“I have been very happy working with Cyan Racing and to continue our journey in this new programme with Lynk & Co is ideal. We will continue to push hard for the World title in 2019,” said Muller.

The team says they’ll confirm their third driver shortly. Information to TouringCarTimes suggests that early championship front-runner Yann Ehrlacher, Muller’s nephew, will be part of the team but that is yet to be confirmed.
